Jarvis Brook Football Club acknowledges its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of every child and young person who has been entrusted to its care and is committed to working to provide a safe environment for all members. A child or young person is anyone under the age of 18 engaged in any Club football activity. We subscribe to The Football Association’s Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures and endorse and adopt its strategy.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO OUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN SAFEGUARDING THE WELFARE OF ALL YOUNG PEOPLE INVOLVED IN GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL
- We commit to ensuring that all our officials, managers and coaches have an in-date accepted FA DBS check
- We commit to ensuring that all teams have at least one FA qualified coach with in-date FA Safeguarding and Emergency Aid certificates
- We commit to ensuring that all our team officials and committee members complete The FA’s safeguarding training
All members of our Coaching Teams work alongside our Club Welfare Officers Lorna Harris and Lucy Berwick welfare@jbjfc.org.uk to ensure that they maintain the required certifications at all times.

Reporting concerns
If you are worried about a child, it’s vital that you report your concerns. Doing nothing is not an option.
There are five ways to report a concern:

- To the Sussex FA Designated Safeguarding Officer Annette Madden on 01903 753547 annette.madden@SussexFA.
com - By emailing The FA Safeguarding Team at safeguarding@TheFA.com or by calling and asking for the team on 0800 169 1863
- If urgent and you are unable to contact your Club, or Sussex FA Safeguarding Officer, you should call the NSPCC 24 hour helpline on 0808 800 5000
- If it is an emergency because a child is at immediate risk, then always call the Police by dialing 999
