    With pre-season preparations well underway, we caught up with Jarvis Brook FC captain George Holman to reflect on the club’s first-ever season in senior football, discuss ambitions for the campaign ahead, and hear why he believes the future at JBFC has never looked brighter.

    From the importance of keeping the squad together to the pathway for the club’s young players, George shared his thoughts ahead of the new season.

    What are your reflections on last season?

    Last year… where do I start? It was a very up-and-down season. We started it so well, which, in hindsight, probably gave us a bit of false hope, as we soon had a reality check. Then, of course, losing Jacob, one of the main reasons we are where we are today, meant it was always going to be an uphill battle. But we battled on and secured a top-half finish, which isn’t to be sniffed at in your first season.

    What’s the ambition for this season?

    We really want to kick on and build from what we did last year. We drew too many matches last season, and if we can turn those draws into wins, we’ll be right up there.

    While new signings are exciting, it’s great to see so many from last season staying with us. How important is that core group of JBFC players?

    It’s huge, as it’s what the club thrives on, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Most of the lads have been together now for at least six years, and even longer for some. The new players who came in last year, it felt like they’d been here for ages, and I’m sure that’ll be the case with the new signings this season.

    What do you love most about the club?

    Everyone is there for each other, through the good times and the bad.

    Are there any fixtures you’re particularly looking forward to?

    We played Worthing at home in the Sussex Cup last year, so hopefully we can get another big team in that competition again!

    What would your message be to all our young players coming through the age groups at the club?

    You’re at the right place. So many of the first-team players have played for Jarvis Brook since the age of six—myself, Fred, Jake, Ashton and Alfie—so there’s a real pathway there.

    There’s a new leadership group this season. What’s it been like working with them?

    They’ve been top. They all bring something different to the group, so there’s a really good balance. The main thing is that everyone is buying into it.

    Finally, how has pre-season training been?

    Let’s be honest, no one really enjoys pre-season, but it’s been good. We’re all looking forward to the season starting now.

    There is a genuine sense of optimism around Jarvis Brook FC heading into the new campaign. With a settled squad, exciting new additions and a strong culture that continues to shine through, George and the players are determined to build on last season’s historic first year in senior football.

    The countdown is almost over, and the squad can’t wait to get back out in front of the JBFC faithful. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Tester & Jones Sportsground for what promises to be another exciting season.

    First Team return for pre-season ahead of exciting new campaign

    After a well-earned summer break, Jarvis Brook FC’s First Team have returned to pre-season training as preparations begin for what promises to be an exciting second season competing at senior level.

    Under the leadership of First Team Manager Raffy Pearce, supported by a strong and committed coaching group, there is a real sense of optimism around the club. Following a hugely positive debut season at this level, everyone is eager to build on those foundations and continue moving the club forward.

    One of the biggest positives heading into the new campaign is the continuity within the squad. Every player from last season has been retained, providing a strong platform to build from, while a number of new faces are already being integrated into the group. The additional quality and competition for places should only strengthen the squad as the season progresses.

    Pre-season has certainly tested the players, with training sessions taking place in challenging summer temperatures. Despite the heat, the commitment, attitude and fitness levels shown by the squad have been outstanding. Every session has been completed with high intensity and a determination to ensure the team is in the best possible shape for the season ahead.

    As always, pre-season is about far more than fitness. It’s an opportunity to build relationships, develop playing styles and create the togetherness that will be so important over the months ahead. The hard work being put in now will provide the platform for the challenges to come.

    There is a genuine buzz around Jarvis Brook FC as another exciting chapter begins. With a talented squad, new additions, experienced coaching staff and the continued backing of our fantastic supporters, everyone is looking forward to seeing what the 2026/27 season has in store.

    Jarvis Brook FC delighted to welcome Will Street

    Jarvis Brook FC are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young forward Will Street from Reigate Priory ahead of the 2026/27 season.

    After terrorising defences across the league last season – including against Jarvis Brook themselves – securing Will’s signature is a major boost for Raffy Pearce’s squad as preparations continue for the new campaign.

    Still only 21, Street arrives with a reputation for blistering pace, intelligent movement and a clinical eye for goal. A constant threat in behind defences, he is a player capable of creating something from nothing and is expected to add another exciting dimension to an already talented attacking group.

    First Team Manager Raffy Pearce is delighted to have finally brought the highly-rated forward to the club.

    “I have known Will for many years and I am excited to be able to bring him to the club. He will add goals and pace to the team and I can’t wait to see him in action, gelling with this already talented squad.”

    Street is equally excited about the challenge ahead and can’t wait to pull on the blue shirt for the first time.

    “I can’t wait to get started. The club is in a good place with good players and great facilities, so I hope to show why Raffy brought me here.”

    The move also reunites Street with close friend and midfield dynamo Jimmy Hoy, with the pair looking forward to linking up once again. Combined with the attacking talent already at the club, Brook supporters have every reason to be optimistic that there will be plenty of goals to celebrate this season.

    A weekend of football at JBFC

    A message from our Chairman, Josh Allcorn ….

    “It was great to see so many Jarvis Brook teams get to play this weekend. Across Saturday and Sunday, we had a number of games and training sessions taking place. It’s great to see and the club is at its best when we are busy!

    I want to thank you all for your patience over the last couple of weeks. Having to postpone games and cancel training is never an easy decision to make but the weather has not been kind. Let’s all hope Spring decides to come early this year and we can get out there more consistently.

    In other news, on Tuesday night (20th Jan), our first team have a cup quarter final vs Steyning Town from the Premier Division. Our home matches under the lights are always a special occasion and I love seeing people from different teams and age groups come out to support the team and create a wonderful atmosphere.

    Our club needs your support right now so I am hoping we can attract as many of you as possible to come up and cheer them on. The bar and cafe will be open, so whether you want a beer or a bovril to accompany your burger, we can help you out!

    Kick off is 7.30 and hopefully we see lots of you there cheering the team on.

    Jarvis Brook FC Announce Appointment of New First Team Manager – Dominic Fitzmaurice 

    Jarvis Brook Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Dominic Fitzmaurice as the club’s new First Team Manager. 

    Following the recent departure of former manager Jacob Baldwin, the club has moved swiftly to bring in Fitzmaurice, who previously enjoyed tremendous success with Oxted & District — guiding the side to a double-winning campaign in the Mid Sussex Premier Division. 

    This season marks Jarvis Brook’s first year competing in Senior Football in the Southern Combination Football League Division 1. The appointment of a manager with Fitzmaurice’s experience and ambition signals Jarvis Brook’s intent to continue building momentum and developing both on and off the pitch. 

    Club Chairman Josh Allcorn shared his excitement about the new arrival: 

    “Dominic has a wealth of experience and knowledge of senior football as well as knowing our squad and fitting with the club’s ethos” said Allcorn. “We very much look forward to him joining us and being integral to the continued success of the club.”

    Jarvis Brook FC Gears Up for Historic 2025/26 Season After Promotion

    Jarvis Brook Football Club, proudly based in Crowborough, East Sussex, have been preparing enthusiastically for their debut season in Division 1 of the Southern Combination Football League. Following their promotion last year, the club will, for the first time in its history, compete as a semi-professional senior football team—a significant milestone that has brought both excitement and considerable challenges.

    The promotion sparked a whirlwind of activity over the summer months, with extensive upgrades made to the club’s facilities to meet the demands of senior football. A major highlight has been the installation of floodlights at their home ground, newly renamed the “Tester & Jones Sportsground” after securing a sponsorship deal that reflects the club’s growing stature.

    Behind the scenes, the club’s committee and dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly to ready the ground for the new season. Their efforts culminated in a busy final week of preparations, laying the foundations for what promises to be an exciting campaign. Among the many tasks completed were the setup of goals, preparation of the pitch, installation of 160 fence posts and panels surrounding the playing area, as well as the erection of ball stop nets to enhance safety and control during matches.

    Further improvements include a new pitch-side bar, over 50 sponsor boards installed to showcase local business support, and the arrival of the new season’s kit— sponsored by Prosperity IFA

    With these substantial investments in infrastructure and the unwavering dedication of everyone involved, Jarvis Brook FC is poised to make a strong impact in Division 1 this season and to top it all off, supporters and all those connected with the club were richly rewarded with an impressive 2-0 victory in the opening home game, setting a positive tone for the campaign ahead.
