1st Team Successful Season 2021-22

Congratulations to our 1st team who have had an amazing season.  Under the coaching partnership of Ed Handford and Jacob Baldwin we finished Runners Up in the Southern Combination Division 2, and also made the final of the Sussex Intermediate Cup, narrowly missing out to Sidley United 2-1.

Southern Combination Division 2 Runners Up

The team finished Runners Up in the Southern Combination Division 2, winning 17 of their 24 matches.  The team had the meanest defence in the league, only conceding 19 goals all season, whilst at the other end we scored 60 goals with Liam Edwards finishing top scorer on 14 goals, and Paul Gardner close behind him with 12.  A fantastic season all round, and we look forward to going one better next season!

Sussex Intermediate Cup Runners Up

The 1st team also had a terrific cup run this season, beating Sedlescombe Rangers, AFC Southwick, Willingdon Athletic (on penalties) and Bosham in the earlier rounds.

A huge crowd of over 300 watched the pulsating semi-final victory against Battle Town, which finished 3-3 after 90 minutes and went to extra time and penalties, with the Brook winning 4-3 on penalties.

And so on to the final on 27th April, where we narrowly missed out in a 2-1 defeat to Sidley United. Having gone 2-0 down, the Brook fought back in the second half with Liam Edwards pulling one back with a long range effort, but despite pushing hard were unable to find the equaliser.
