It’s been a long time since the semi-final in January, but it was worth the wait as our Under 14 Sharks capped their terrific season with a 2-0 victory over Langton Green CSA U14 Jaguars at the Hailsham Town FC stadium.
A tense match was largely controlled by Jarvis Brook, who took a deserved lead with a strike by Angus Rumm from the edge of the penalty area after some early pressure. The Brook continued to press and were rewarded with a second goal after the referee gave an indirect free kick for a back pass which was slotted home by Alfie Gilder.
The second half was dominated by Jarvis Brook, who kept up the pressure throughout and had a series of attempts on goal and a sucession of corners which were stoutly defended by the Langton Green back line. However, the third goal would not come, and at the final whistle the boys were able to celebrate a much deserved victory.
The team were also Runners Up in the CDJFL U14 Division A, and have had an amazing season. Our congtratulations go to all the lads and also to the coaching team of Carl Berwick and Dan Hare on another successful season.
