Grassroots Football is Back!

20 March 2021

Jarvis Brook Football Club is pleased to advise that following the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, all grassroots football is allowed to restart from 29th March.  Arrangements are as follows:

Training Resumes 30th March

We are returning to football training for all age groups from Tuesday 30th March.  In order to make up for the loss of training over the last 3 months due to lockdown, the club will be extending the season throughout the summer (instead of having the usual summer break from May to August).  Please note that there have been a few slight changes to training times with some age groups, and some additional sessions have also been arranged by certain age groups.  New training times are shown in the table at the bottom of the page, and have also been updated on the individual pages in the Our Teams section of this website.

Youth/Mini Soccer Fixtures resume 10th April

The Crowborough & District Junior Football League held a Special General Meeting with its member clubs on 4th March at which it was agreed to abandon the current league and cup competitions for the 2020/21 season as there was not sufficient time to complete all games in the current format, and also taking into account lack of pitch availability for some clubs due to sharing with cricket in the summer at council controlled pitches.

A new 6-week round robin Shield tournament will commence on the weekend of 10/11 April, with the season ending by 23rd May.  Fixtures are currently being drawn up and will be published shortly.  The proposed new format is as follows:

  • U7-U10      Three Mini Soccer fixtures per team commencing 10th April for U8/U10 and 17th April for U7/U9
  • U11-U18    Six fixtures per team commencing 11th April

1st Team & U23 Fixtures resume 10th April

The Southern Combination League has also been abandoned for the 2020/21 season.  However, the League is setting up a short Champions League-style tournament to commence in April. The group stage winners will go into the knockout stages and there will be a cup and medals for the winners.  Fixtures are still to be announced.

Veterans Fixtures resume 4th April

We are pleased to advise that the Vets Football League will be concluded as planned, and matches will recommence on Sunday 4th April with an away match versus Lewes.
